What type of home is this? (4-room HDB/3-room condo/terrace house etc)
• Terrace House

How many rooms?
• 5 Bedrooms

What’s the floor size?
• 3800 sqft.

How many people live here? (Family with three kids / young couple / three generations under one roof etc)
• Three Generations under one roof, 2 kids, a couple, a grandmother and a helper.

Describe the homeowners.
• The homeowners were very specific with what they wanted and they were very decisive and gave very clear direction to the design of their new home.
They are also very experience with renovation, which made it easy when explaining technical details with them.

What was the design brief? What kind of look did the homeowners request?
• The home owners wanted a modern Scandinavian look for their new home with a bright and airy feel.

What’s the most interesting design feature in this home?
• The level 1 bedroom and yard area was reconfigure to accommodate a dry kitchen with island and a spacious wet kitchen.

Living room:

Special furniture/material:

• Veneer Wall light behind sofa.

• The wall lights compliments the furniture & wall colour to be a backdrop and have soft lighting at night.

• Cement screed looking TV feature wall using laminate and TV console with marble top




Dining room:

Special furniture/material:
• Big Clear mirror with timbre frame to frame up the dining area wall and making the space looks clean and sleek.









Dry Kitchen:

Special furniture/material:
• Island Kitchen, Quartz top were used for easy maintenance and durability. Matt white laminate and wood laminates were chosen for a bright and clean look.





Wet Kitchen:

Special furniture/material:
• Ash Grey Quartz top were used for heavy duty and less visible to stains. Matt white laminate were chosen for the cabinets to contract with the timbre looking homogeneous tiles that is anti-slip and adds warmth to the kitchen. Kitchen backing is using a mosaic look alike tiles to reduce grouting for easy maintenance and to add detailing to the kitchen walls.









Junior Master Bedroom:

Special furniture/material:
• Girls’ Bedroom, use of pastel tones. Mostly use of loose furniture and deco items to keep flexibility of room for future plans. Custom made wall decal in pastel tones to have an artistic yet smoothing feel for the room.





Master Bedroom:

Special furniture/material:
• TV feature wall that hides the thickness of adjacent bookshelves for cosy corner. The use for TV feature lights and bedhead lights for soft mood lighting









Level 1 – Guest Bathroom: (The one with slant ceiling)

Special furniture/material:
• Feature homogenous wall tiles was selected to be on one of the walls. Which compliments really well with the floor and main wall tiles to add an interesting with slight playfulness backdrop. Kompac plus top was used with matching laminates to have a consistent look for vanity cabinet.





Level 2 – Junior Master Bathroom: (The one with mosaic looking tiles)

Special furniture/material:
• Mosaic looking homogenous wall tiles was selected to be the feature wall tiles to add a dainty look for the girls bathroom but still keeping the monochrome colour scheme for a lasting look . Kompac plus top was used to bring a timbre element for the monochrome colour palette. Mirror with shallow storage was use for hidden storage. Shampoo niche was constructed.









Level 2 – Guest Bathroom: (The one with black vanity top)

Special furniture/material:
• Use of neutrals for the colour palette. Feature wall is in a slightly textured finishing to give more detail to the bathroom and black granite vanity top was used to bring out the contrast.





Level 3 – Master Bathroom: (The one with two basins)

Special furniture/material:
• Use of monochrome geometric tiles for flooring. Low wall behind WC was built. Mirror with storage and lights. Full ht storage cabinet opposite toilet bowl. Shower screen with black frame.

Describe the homeowners.
– The young couple appreciate finer things in life, and like to host. They are also very stylish people. The wife is a director of her own apparel line.

What was the design brief? What kind of look did the homeowners request?
Modern design.

What’s the most interesting design feature in this home?
The bar area, made up of a suspended wine rack and half ht cabinet as a top.

What were some of the challenges when designing this house?
– Challenges will be the sofa, TV and dining placement, Due to the layout of the living, dining and balcony, we spent some time on exploring the different configurations and each pros and cons.
